What does my nonprofit's status mean?

There are five states, and each one says exactly what is true right now.

Onboarding — you have signed up and are still assembling what an application needs: the logo, evidence of charitable status, and payout onboarding. Nothing is in a queue yet. You submit when you are ready.

In review — you have submitted and it is waiting for a person. There is no published turnaround time, and nothing here predicts the outcome.

Approved — the application has been accepted. Being approved is not by itself what makes you visible to sellers: your organisation appears publicly and can be chosen on a listing once it is approved, has finished payout onboarding, has a logo, and has either an IRS-confirmed EIN or a determination letter on file. If you are approved but not appearing, one of those is what to check.

Rejected — a person declined it. You can resubmit yourself up to 2 times, at least 24 hours apart.

Suspended — an enforcement action against an organisation that was previously live. A suspended organisation cannot put itself back in the queue; that takes a conversation with us.

Once you are approved, some details are no longer yours to change directly — the organisation's name, category, contact name, email and phone, address, website, and the determination letter. Editing one raises a change request that is pending, approved, rejected, or superseded by a newer request on the same field. Everything else you can edit yourself.
