How and when do I get paid for what I sell?
Updated September 9, 2026
You are paid through a Stripe payout account connected to your Clutter Sale account. You only need one if you keep a share of a sale, so you are prompted to set it up after a sale rather than before you list.
Connecting is a short Stripe form. Your account counts as ready only once Stripe reports both that your details are submitted and that payouts are enabled — one without the other is not enough.
When a sale settles, your share is sent to your connected account at that moment. There is no waiting period on top of that today: the payout hold is set to zero days for every seller. It exists as a setting that can be raised if fraud makes it necessary.
If your payout account is not ready when a sale settles, the sale still completes and your share is recorded as pending rather than lost. It is sent automatically as soon as Stripe reports your account ready, and a sweep every half hour picks up anything that failed for a passing reason. You do not have to ask for it.
Any causes on the listing are paid at the same moment and on the same schedule as your own share. The charity's share never goes out ahead of yours.
Once the money is in your connected account, Stripe moves it on to your bank on its own schedule. That last step is Stripe's, not ours, so we cannot tell you the exact day it lands.
