How does buying something work?

Updated September 5, 2026

You pay, you collect, you accept. We hold the money in between.

  1. Press Buy. You tick a box saying you understand you're buying it as it is.
  2. Pay. The card is charged, but the seller doesn't get it yet.
  3. Sort out a pickup. Whoever's travelling suggests some days and the other person picks one.
  4. Go and collect it.
  5. Accept it in the app. That's the button that pays the seller and the causes they chose.

Nothing reaches the seller until you accept, and nobody's home address turns up anywhere unless they chose to hand over at their home themselves — and a porch address only reaches you once the item's out and photographed.

Forget to press it? The sale closes on its own a day after the pickup day ends. We'd rather that than a deal sitting open for a month because you got busy.

If something's wrong

Don't accept. Report a problem on the deal instead, which freezes the money exactly where it is and puts the case in front of a person.
