What am I not allowed to list, and why is my listing in review?

Every listing is screened automatically when it is created, and again whenever its photos or its words change. Most publish straight away.

A photo the scanner reads as likely to be adult, violent or sexually explicit stops the listing being published at all. Nothing is stored, and you are told to replace the photo. If the scanner is merely unsure, or if it cannot run, the listing is held for a person to look at instead of going live.

Words never block a listing on their own — they only hold it. The watchlist covers weapons and ammunition, prescription medication, recalled goods, counterfeits and replicas, live animals and animal products, adult items, and regulated goods such as vapes, nicotine, tobacco, alcohol, cannabis, lottery tickets, catalytic converters and used car seats. It matches whole words and it is deliberately broad, so ordinary listings do get caught. Some phrases are excluded on purpose — a glue gun or a nerf gun does not trip the weapons list — but the rest is cleared by a person.

A held listing sits in review. It is not visible while it waits, and only an admin can release it: approving puts it live, rejecting removes it. Nothing releases itself on a timer, and nobody can tell you in advance which way it will go or when.

Other limits worth knowing: the price must be at least $0.50, a listing carries at most 10 photos and extras are simply dropped, and a fixed-price listing that has not sold in 60 days is expired by a daily sweep — you are notified and can relist it in one tap.
