What if the pickup never happens?

Nothing happening does not leave anybody charged. Every path here ends with the hold released and the item back on sale.

A meetup whose scheduled day ends with no handoff photo cancels 12 hours after the day ends. The hold is released, the buyer pays nothing, the item relists, and neither side is marked down for it.

A porch drop-off that was never photographed never completes on its own. It falls back to the ordinary hold expiry: when the hold runs out the authorization is cancelled and the item relists.

A deal where no pickup day is ever agreed behaves the same way — the hold expires on its usual clock and the item goes back on sale.

Both sides are warned before a cancel clock fires, and either of them can still act.

If you believe the handoff did happen and something has gone wrong, report a problem rather than waiting for a clock. Reporting freezes every clock on the deal.
